 Bus Trip to the Mid-West Genealogy Center

Dear GSCM Members and Friends,
The "Ride the Bus to Research" trip has been paid for by GSCM.
We would like to have at least 8 more participants sign up to get us to the break-even point.
If you have told me by email or in person that you are wanting to go,
please mail the check to our address below or bring it to the April 3, 2012 GSCM meeting.
We still have room for up to 15 people! We are getting several participants from our
membership, surrounding genealogical groups, the local DAR, Osher and those who have
attended my Genealogy Help! program/ lab held monthly at the Columbia Public Library.
There is no better way of spending INCOME TAX deadline day than to go have fun with your
fellow genealogical researchers. Other highlights of this excursion are that Midwest
Genelaogy Center is offering a catered box lunch for $8.00 a piece to be delivered to the
library. There is a FREE BEGINNING GENEALOGY presentation that any of us can attend as
well. Also, since the 1940 census will have been released just two weeks prior, the
librarians there will be able to give us tips on finding our families using the finding
aids given us by the National Archives. On the return trip we will be eating at the
fabulous Biffles BBQ in Concordia. Need I say more?
Also, if someone wants to become a member of GSCM for the remainder of the year,
they can pay $25 for the bus fee and $15 for membership for a total of $40.00.
That's a BARGAIN!!
I will accept riders clear up 'til the 15th of April but the sooner the better!
If anyone has questions, please don't hesitate to ask me.
I check my email daily and pack my cell phone with me everywhere I go.
The itinerary will be posted by April 4th.

On Tuesday, April 17, GSCM is sponsoring a bus trip to the Mid-West Genealogy Center in Independence, MO.
Join us as we visit the state’s largest genealogical library. Once you arrive, go on a group guided tour of the facility
and/ or access their collection with the help of the library’s staff. A free Beginning Genealogy class will be offered that day as well.
The cost is $25 for GSCM members and $30 for non-members.
