Devoted GSCM member passes
Long time GSCM member David Swaney passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009.
He was born on March 6, 1929, in Radford, Va., to Charles B. Swaney and Mary E. Torrence. He married Dolores “DoDo” Wille on Sept. 15, 1951, and she survives.
David was an active member of GSCM and was a very important contributor on many projects.
GSCM extends our deepest sympathies to DoDo and family.
Officers still needed for 2009
The offices of Historian and volunteer coordinator are open. If you are interested in fulfilling either of these positions, talk to any of the board members.
We now have the ability to search this site. This will be a helpful feature as more and more information is added.
New Library Hours!
The GSCM library (and the Boone County Historical Society Musuem) has recently adopted new hours/days of operation. The new summer times are: Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat and Sun from 12:30p.m. to 4:30p.m.
The library will not be open on Mondays or Tuesdays and the hours have changed as well.
